My Journey

1975

1975

First near Lightning Strike, While in Covington, GA, at my Grandmothers place, I was riding my tricycle under the awing on her porch, during a heavy thunderstorm- and out of the sky- Boom! My first “close call” with Lightning! Across the street was a Gulf gas station sign that took the direct hit igniting the sign into a fire ball of plastic burning and electrical sparks. Several years later, I witnessed a second direct hit into a house just behind the very same Gulf station, this time catching the houses roof on fire!

1rst Life Pivot. My Father died in a car accident, ejected from the vehicle (not wearing his seat belt) I was 14, yet I saw his death as his “gift” teaching me to understand inner anger as a root of a poisonous tree that can grow until it kills you. In my opinion, his abusive father broke his spirit. My father never knew his younger brother, due to the competition for seeking his father’s love, which he never got.

My Brother, Henry “Jackson” Fullbright 4th- His first solo of an airplane, before able to drive a car.
Ever since a baby, his first drawings were airplanes, and he was obsessed with flying.

Joined Project Ocean Search, hosted by Jean-Michael Cousteau, of the “Cousteau Society” in British Virgin Islands. We did underwater science and observation of marine life and I also learned under water photography from the Cousteau Society senior photographer, Scott Frier. While in BVI I was also introduced to world famous treasure hunter, Burt Kilbride, and his son. Interviewing with the Cousteau scientists gave me more insights into my dream of becoming a professional Oceanographer.

Adventure and Nature

Working in the Outdoor Industry as a professional photographer and guide cemented my relationship with nature. The Natural world has been my place for healing and rejuvenation. Months of work, planning and collecting all the equipment and supplies for Expeditions was a lifestyle rewarded by quiet, and clarity once on the projects, Stress was real in relation to objective dangers like Rockfall from Ibex Sheep or Avalanche, but not like the financial or social stresses of “society”. Throughout my life I have sought to live in a greater harmony within myself and nature.

My photography plays on this relationship and bends time.
